Neil Gorsuch will fill Antonin Scalia’s seat.

U.S. airstrike on Syrian air base:

  • Early Friday President Donald Trump ordered the launching of nearly 60 Tomahawk missiles at the Shayrat air base in Syria. The attack marked the first time the U.S. directly targeted Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces. While the order has been widely hailed, Russian President Vladimir Putin disagrees with the decision. The UN Security Council is set for a briefing on the airstrikes Friday afternoon.

Senate confirms Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court:

  • The Senate has confirmed that Neil Gorsuch will be the newest associate justice on the Supreme Court. Gorsuch will fill the seat of Antonin Scalia after winning support from 51 of the chamber’s Republicans and three moderate Democrats. When he is sworn in, Gorsuch will restore the court’s conservative voting majority that existed before Scalia’s death.

Temple men’s soccer honored at Philadelphia Soccer Six banquet:

  • Temple men’s soccer was honored at the Philadelphia Soccer Six Banquet Thursday night. Recent MLS draftee Jorge Gomez Sanchez took home the Chris Jones Player of the Year award. For the second year in a row, Alex Cagle posted the best Goals Against Average of any goalie in the City Six. In all the Owls saw two players named to the Soccer Six All-Star Team.
