Enechionyia and Rose Putting the AAC on Notice

(AP Photo/Andres Kudacki)Philadelphia, PA – Temple men’s basketball Junior Obi Enechionyia and Freshman Quinton Rose were honored with two American Athletic Conference weekly awards on Nov. 28th.

Junior Obi Enechionyia was awarded as the NCCA.com, AAC and Big 5 Player of the week; averaging 19 points per game 10 rebounds and 5.5 blks in two wins last week at the NIT Tip-Off Tournament. The Owls won the NIT Tip-Off, their first regular season title since 1998. The Owls took down two nationally ranked teams in No. 25 Florida State and No. 19 West Virginia en route to the title.

Freshman Quinton Rose has been quite a surprise off the bench for the Owls, earning his second AAC Freshman of the Week honors. Rose averaged 19 points per game in the NIT Tip-Off tournament, scoring a career high 26 points in the Florida State victory. It’s safe to say Rose has been the surprise of the season thus far.

The Owls (4-2,1-0) will be playing against Philadelphia Big 5 rival St. Joesph’s (3-2, 0-0) in stadium Hagan Arena, tonight at 7 p.m.
