Student Philanthropy Week comes to Temple

Temple University campus bows to the brute force of Blizzard Jonas.Philanthropy is all about the gift of giving, and Temple is taking part in the action. Next Monday marks the start of the university’s Student Philanthropy program, a week-long event filled with different activities to highlight the act of giving.

Here’s a quick run-down of what’s happening:

Monday, February 13: Tag Day will take place from 11am-2pm. There will be “Thanking Stations” throughout campus for students to write notes to donors and thank them for their contributions. Alter and Presser halls, along with the Honors Lounge will host these stations.  You can also participate on social media using #TUtagday.

Tuesday, February 14: “I love Temple Day” will take place in the Student Center from 12-4pm. The event will feature Valentine’s Day snacks and performances from Temple students.

Wednesday, February 15: The Fox Student Philanthropic Society will host a bingo tournament and trivia in Alter Hall from 5:30-7pm. The first bingo card is free and winners will be awarded prizes.

Friday, February 17: The week concludes with the Philanthropy Panel of Professionals. This event will feature a number of notable Temple alumni who will talk about the role of nonprofits and philanthropy on society, as well as how students can get involved on campus. It will be followed by a networking reception.
