Temple women’s soccer took a little trip up to Lawrenceville, NJ to face The University of Rider Broncos. The Owls improved to a 2-2 record with a huge overtime win over Rider, as the Broncos fall to a 2-2 record as well.

In the 92nd minute Temple Junior Gabriella McKeown struck with the overtime winner on her only shot.

Scoring was hard to come by in the first two halves. Owl goaltender Jordan Nash stopped three shots, and Riders Bethany-May Howard had six saves.

Riders Ellie Smith recorded three shots and teammates Valeria Pascuet and Kourtney Cunningham chipped in with two shots each.

Temple seemed to have control the whole game, outshooting Rider 18-9 forcing Rider to really defend for the length of the game. Sophomore Sarah McGlinn and Junior Kayla Cunningham lead the attack with four shots and six shots respectively.

During halftime at 7:09pm, lightning appeared causing the game to be delayed for about 45 minutes.

Temple and Rider had eleven fouls a piece but Ellie Smith picked up the only card of the game, a yellow card in the 37th minute.

The Owls end their two game road trip with a game at the new Temple Sports Complex against the visiting Towson Tigers Sunday at 3:00pm.
