Walk through main campus and you may feel like your window shopping at a farmers market. The bell tower is home to a new project that was launched by Temple’s Office of Sustainability. The PopUp Thrift Store is an effort to reuse goods ranging form kitchen wear, to towels, to clothing. The store provided students with a cheep and convenient way to recycle their old possessions.

Teaching Self Defense in Philly

The new Philly Self Defense lessons offer those interested an opportunity to learn the basics of protection. Founded by Joe Nophut and Temple Alumni Allen Chambers, the new defense dojo is located at 1333 North Front St. Philly Self Defense is a resource for students and local Philadelphians that enables those interested to learn practical and necessary self defense techniques.

Temple University’s Center City campus has added some improvements to its structure. More specifically, it has added a new Shop and Cafe to the 1515 Market Street building. Center City Campus Director Bill Parshall informed us that it is, “the most recent addition to the Center City campus…where you can get a bite to eat or sit down and talk with your friends.” All seems to be moving…

It may have been cold on Valentines day, but that did not stop couples from having a heart-warming time on the ice last Saturday. The first annual Sweetheart Skate was held this past Saturday for Valentines day. Couples from all over the city were drawn to spend the evening gliding, sliding, slipping and falling across Rothman’s ice rink at Dilworth park. Couples eager to get on the ice…
