District 2 candidate Chaka Fattah, who has been the representative for District 2 since 1994, lost the primary to newcomer Dwight Evans. District 1 incumbent Robert Brady, representative since 1998, kept his position. Evans beat out 3 other candidates in the Democratic party.

Nothing prepared sophomore Christina Lauletta for what would cut her night so short. Lauletta had taken the subway home from the stadium in a group—one of whom was her boyfriend.
