On March 11. the [Penn Museum](https://www.penn.museum/events/kids-family/culturefest) held its first women-centered CultureFest. In celebration of Women's History Month, the Penn Museum displayed local and global artwork from women creators.

The festival began with an art-making activity in the Asia gallery and a performance by the Sattriya Dance Company.

As Director of Community Engagement, Jennifer Brehm emphasizes the importance of cultural enrichment through the arts at CultureFest.

By bringing in artists with a variety of perspectives, a variety of backgrounds, we feel we are truly representing the city that we live in.”

Guests enjoyed live performances, storytelling, hands-on guest workshops, pottery wheel demonstrations, and unique ceramic and print works from local artists at the festival.

"Women are representations of Mother Nature. All of us here are wielders of our own beings. I think it's beautiful to see how our intentions manifest through these vessels that we want people to love," Cedano says.

The Penn Museum is [scheduled](https://www.penn.museum/calendar/list.events/-?start=0) to host its next CultureFest this fall to celebrate Mexican culture and Dia de los Muertos.
