With Elections 2 Weeks Out, How to Find your Polling Place.
Election Day is less than two weeks away, and Temple Update is your Election Headquarters.
Temple and the Surrounding Community
A new electoral map will take effect during the midterm election cycle, with Temple located within the second and third congressional district. By the old map, Temple fell in the first and second, with Representatives Bob Brady and Dwight Evans respectively holding office.
Dwight Evans is running again, but this time for the third district, while Representative Brendan Boyle (who represented the thirteenth district) runs for the second district.
If you are registered to vote using your on or off campus address, there are multiple locations within walking distance of campus that may be your polling location. To find your polling place, click here.
Important Election Day Information
If you are a first time voter on November 6th, you need to bring identification with you to verify your identity. Acceptable ID includes a Pennsylvania Driver’s license, a passport, a student ID, or a current utility bill with your voting address on it.
If you are voting by absentee ballot, requests for a ballot can be made my October 28, but must be received by your local office of elections by the Friday before election day (November 2, 2018).
What If I Get Turned Away?
If you were to be turned away from a polling location, do not panic. You have a right to fill out a provisional ballot that will be counted later once your registration has been verified by election officials.
