The new light display on Boathouse Row was unveiled Saturday.

With the combination of great autumn weather and Martin Luther King Drive closed for the event, people of all ages lined up all along the street to get a view of the lights along the famous Boathouse Row. The houses looked like a holiday extravaganza, switching from different colors, patterns, and speeds throughout the show. The crowd spoke positively of the show, and everyone seemed genuinely impressed and awed.

Temple student David Eckard exclaimed his excitement and overall love for the new improvements of Boathouse Row.

“I used to drive past it when I was bored, it gave me something to do,” said Eckard, a sophomore. “I love seeing what it’s become since my childhood; it never fails to amaze me.”

Musical guests DJ Reed Streets and the band “Hurry” kept everyone entertained throughout the night. Cosmic Catering and Cafe provided food for the attendees, and of course all those of legal age enjoyed beer from the Shangy’s tap truck.

Boathouse Row will continue to shine and charm those who drive along the Schyulkill, now with some extra lively color.
