PPD Releases Video of Carlisle Suspect

Police are investigating a sexual assault of a Temple student, which occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 29th.

Police say an armed sexual assault of a female Temple student occurred at 12 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1400 block of Carlisle Street, which is located just south of Main Campus. Reports say that the student had left the library with a friend at around 11:15 p.m.. The two then parted ways at Broad and Cecil B. Moore.

The victim was approached by a black male once she reached Carlisle. Temple police described the suspect as being in his mid-20s with a goatee. He was wearing a gray beanie, a green vest, black long-sleeve shirt, and blue jeans at the time of the assault.

Reports say the suspect used a small silver handgun to strike the victim in the arm and forced her against the wall of a construction area. The suspect was last seen heading northbound on foot from the crime scene.

The incident is still under investigation. The Special Victims Unit has been contacted and are working in collaboration with the Philadelphia Police Department and Temple Police. Investigators continue to seek witnesses and review surveillance footage.
