Homecoming week is here for the Temple Owls (3-3, 1-2), who got back to .500 last week after a much needed victory over the East Carolina Pirates, also giving them their first conference win this season. The win gave head coach Geoff Collins his first conference win and his first road win, both in one game. They’ll take on the Huskies of UConn (1-4, 0-3) this Saturday afternoon at the Linc.

Owls Dominated On National Stage, Still Finding Identity

A 43-7 loss to the USF Bulls sets Temple back to 2-2 heading into week 5, and this was certainly not the way the unit wanted to open up conference play. Sophomore wide receiver Isaiah Wright started the season hot, and is expected to make an explosive impact for the Temple Owls offense in their 2017 campaign. Wright possess raw natural talent and athleticism that makes him the ultimate dual threat on offense. As a true freshman last season, Wright carried the ball 42 times racking up 232 yards to along with one rushing touchdown.

Temple Shuts Out Stony Brook For First Win Of The Season

Temple handily took care of business at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, and defeated the Seawolves of Stony Brook by a score of 38-0, in Matt Rhule’s second ever shutout as head coach of the Owls. On paper, Phillip Walker was responsible for the Owls stagnant second half offense last Friday night versus Army. Finishing 4/16 with two interceptions, Walker was unable to lead a touchdown drive late that would have set the Owls up to the steal the game. Instead, dropped passes, wrong routes, and miscommunication eventually resulted in shock in the opening night setback.
