In an email sent out by Temple President John Fry, he confirmed the identity of the victim, Chase Myles, a sophomore in the Klein College of Media and Communication. According to NBC10, the shooter is 23-year-old Nicholas Iaderosa, who is also a Temple student. Vice President of Public Safety Jennifer Griffin says that the two planned to meet on the night of the incident.

“2021 is on track to be the most violent year we’ve experienced in our lifetimes” said Mayor Jim Kenney at a city-wide briefing on gun violence, the first of many to come. City leaders met last week to discuss the issue of gun violence as the numbers climb higher and higher. Over the weekend, a shooting in Nicetown left five people wounded and one man dead. He was shot 14 times.
