Men’s Soccer Falls to #1 SMU

DALLAS- In the American Athletic Conference semifinals Friday night, the Owls season came to a close as they were defeated by #1 seed, SMU, who will advance to the the AAC Finals to take on UCF. Less than three minutes into the game, SMU struck first with a goal from Emil Cuello to make the game 1-0. In the fourth minute, SMU was awarded a free kick off a Darri Sigthorsson yellow card.

Temple Downs SMU To Notch 20th Win of the Season

In dominating fashion, the #25 ranked Temple Owls handled the SMU Mustangs to clinch their 20th victory of the season. The win comes as Temple’s tenth conference victory of the season, and fourth straight win in a row. The Owls were lead by the contributions of junior Donnaizha Fountain who tallied another double-double on the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Owls Can’t Overcome Second Half Deficit, Fall to SMU

A year after upsetting an unbeaten SMU team, Temple entered Moody Coliseum looking for its first win in AAC play this season. The Mustangs came out hot, and carried a double digit lead throughout the game, defeating the Owls 79-65 for their 9th consecutive victory. The Owls could not overcome an 18 point second half deficit, and fall to 0-3 in AAC play to start the season.

Player Profile: Romond Deloatch

Tight end Romond Deloatch has been a playmaker on both sides of the football for the Owls this season. Last week against SMU, Deloatch narrowly missed scoring touchdowns on both offense, and defense, after he was ruled down at the one yard line following a 34 yard reception. The redshirt-senior is just two yards short of posting a career high in receiving yards heading into week six.
