Men’s Basketball Wins 3rd Straight; Dominate La Salle in Big 5 opener

The Owls cruised 73-57 over the Explorers, holding a double digit lead for the majority of the game. Temple Men’s Basketball Falls to 1-1 after Valiant 2nd Half Effort

On Saturday night, Temple men’s basketball fell 76-71 to the USC Trojans, a team that reached the Elite 8 in last year’s NCAA Tournament. The Owls were coming off of a season opening victory against the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks, 72-49. A common theme of each game has been a slow first half offensively, followed by a strong surge on both sides of the floor in the second.

Freshman guard Jasha Clinton’s effort wasn’t enough for Temple University women’s basketball on Tuesday afternoon. Clinton led all players in scoring (22 points), assists (eight), and steals (five), but as a team Temple shot just 41.1 percent from the floor in their 83-73 loss to the Tulane Green Wave (17-7, 12-6 AAC) in the opening round of the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
