Aramark’s contract with Temple University begins July 1, 2017.

After twenty eight years together, Temple and Sodexo will go their separate ways.

Sodexo, the current food service provider of Temple University’s dining facilities and Broad Street caterers, submitted a proposal to the university earlier this year to renew their contract. After a year long process by students, faculty, and staff, Temple’s Board of Trustees went in favor of Aramark‘s bid.

“The selection committee ranked Aramark highly for its creativity and inclusivity of food-service concepts, catering options, commitment to sustainability and fit with Temple” said Temple’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Clark said in a statement.

The University also noted in the statement that they will work with Aramark to ensure that current employees have an opportunity to continue their employment and join Aramark.

The 15 year contract with Aramark, effective July 1, 2017, has not been finalized.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
