Temple University has announced its decision to rescind Bill Cosby’s honorary degree.

Cosby was convicted Thursday on three counts of aggravated and indecent assault, including a charge for the assault of former Temple employee Andrea Constand.

In an official statement, “the Temple University Board of Trustees has accepted the recommendation of the University to rescind the honorary degree.”

Cosby was awarded the honorary Doctorate of Law in 1991. He also earned a bachelor’s degree from Temple in 1971.

More than two dozen universities and colleges have revoked honorary degrees in Cosby’s name.
