Tucked away close to the Brandywine River in Kennett Square, Pa is a treasure that will always bring a smile to your face. Longwood Gardens is a premier botanical garden bought by Pierre du Pont in 1906. Longwood is known for their heated 4 acre conservatory which houses 20 different indoor gardens. Some of these include the very popular Orchid House, The Green Wall, and the Acacia Passage. Quickly becoming a Christmas tradition for many families, Longwood Gardens has over half a million lights strung up over 50 acres of land.
“A Longwood Christmas this season overflows with our fountain inspired display. Pierre du Pont, our founder, had a passion for fountains, and we actually have the largest collection of fountains in the Western Hemisphere” says Abigail Palutis, a marketing communicators associate.
So guests will be able to see dozens of new fountain features added throughout our heated 4 acre conservatory, and there will be beautiful blue and white lights strung across the entire conservatory.
They have organ sing-alongs that take place daily and they also have holiday concerts that are ticketed and free throughout the entire season.
Tickets for A Longwood Christmas are timed. You must buy them before hand – visit Longwoodgardens.org to purchase tickets.
