Just before the end of the academic year, a new campaign has sprung at Temple.
Titled Anti-Shame Week 2016 (ASW16), the campaign seeks to erase the stigma surrounding girls and menstruation. Originally started online, it has now been brought to campus. With the exception of Tuesday, there will be a series of events throughout the week. The events are listed below.
Monday, April 18: Tampon drive in collaboration with Black Diamonds Union (BDU) in the Student Center.
Wednesday, April 20: Menstruation education session in collaboration with Queer People Of Color (QPOC) from 6-8pm at the Rad Dish Cafe.
Thursday, April 21: Empowering girls session in collaboration with She’s the First (STF) in Morgan D301 from 3-5:30 pm. The session will feature a variety of entrepreneurs and women-empowerment speakers. Refreshments will be provided.
Friday, April 22: ASW Art Show at the Tyler School of Art from 12-3pm.
