Temple was involved in their fourth one goal game in their last five games overall, but yet again, they found themselves on the wrong side of the score.

Bison’s senior forward Kiersten Sydnor was able to bury the overtime winner about five minutes into the extra session after junior midfielder Amy Mucelli made a beautiful pass to the front of the net, and Bucknell beat Temple by a score of 2-1.

The teams were very even throughout this game as the game went into half tied at 0-0 and the only real chance for either team in the half came for Bucknell off a penalty corner, but Owls senior goalie Haley Mitchell made a beautiful diving save to keep the game scoreless.

Bucknell got the scoring going about 17 minutes of the second half as senior midfielder Emily Hitchings found the back of the net for her third goal of the season to give the Bison a 1-0 lead.

That lead didn’t last for long though as about seven minutes later as sophomore forward Hattie Kuhns scored off a beautiful pass from senior forward Erin VanHorn to tie the game at 1-1.

When the game went to overtime, the Owls pushed forward right away and appeared to draw penalty corner as it looked like the ball hit a Bucknell defender in the foot in the circle, but there was no call.

After the no-call, Bucknell came right back the other way and generated a 2-on-1 opportunity and Mucelli found Sydnor who put home the winning goal.

The final stats were almost dead even as both teams generated six penalty corners and Bucknell had nine shots on goal compared to seven for Temple.

Temple will now go on a three game road trip. The first of those games is scheduled for next Friday at Providence.
