Two million dollars have been budgeted towards a new campus look, scheduled to be finished by 2015.
If all goes according to plan, students will walk onto campus this fall and see new L.E.D. lights along a
newly-landscaped Liacouras Walk.
The hope is to make Liacouras Walk feel more pedestrian friendly, says Temple University architect Margaret Carney.
“It will be more the feel of Center City,” said Carney, “kind of a pedestrian area or a pedestrian district where people are walking around all hours of the day and night.”
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, May 11 after Temple’s Spring 2015 Commencement.
Major construction should be finished by the second week in August, with landscaping on Liacouras Walk going into next fall.
