Power has been restored to Carnell, Conwell, Shusterman and Sullivan halls. A TU Alert issued just before 11:00 pm Monday said all normal operations will resume at those buildings on Tuesday.
Power was cut Monday afternoon to Carnell, Conwell, Sullivan, Shusterman and Pearson-McGonigle halls after city-employed crews working on Broad Street reportedly cut through a power main, according to a TU Alert.
A subsequent alert was sent roughly a half hour later stating that crews were able to provide power to Pearson-McGonigle and classes are being held as scheduled. But as a result of the power problems, the University said it was extending the drop/add deadline to the end of the business day Tuesday.
The crews were cutting through the pavement as part of an $11 million project to beautify the 2.5 mile stretch of Broad Street surrounding Temple’s campus. The plan calls for the installation of light masts and greenery.
