The AAC announced yesterday that two Temple men’s basketball players earned honors for their work on the court this past week. Freshman guard Damian Dunn was named the conference’s Rookie of the Week, and junior forward Jake Forrester was named to the conference’s weekly Honor Roll.
Dunn averaged 19 points, with 4 rebounds and shot 20/27 from the free throw line, leading the Owls to a 2-1 record last week. The freshman also led the Owls in points in all three of the games they played last week, with career highs of 20 points vs UCF & Tulane, both wins. These numbers were enough to also earn Dunn the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week Award.
As for Forrester, he made his way onto the AAC’s Honor Roll, a weekly award that highlights the best players in the conference for each week. The junior recorded his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds vs Tulane. Forrester also averaged a solid 9 points and nearly 9 rebounds for the week.
The Owls were scheduled to host 3-7(1-4) Cincinnati on Wednesday night (1/20). That game has since been postponed. Make sure to follow @TU_SportsDesk on Twitter for more updates.
