PHILADELPHIA–For the first time in 160 years, the incumbent has lost the race for governor in Pennsylvania. Gov. Tom Corbett (R) was defeated by Democrat Tom Wolf. This comes after President Obama held a rally at the Liacouras Center with Wolf on Sunday. Temple Update was live on TUTV and online throughout the evening Tuesday covering the races.
Congressional races across the nation, including many in Pennsylvania, chose the Republican name on the ballot as the GOP garnered full control of both houses.
“The biggest change will be something we’re not used to seeing, vetoes will become more common,” Political Science Professor Robin Kolodny told Temple Update on air.
Temple’s republicans gathered at the United Republican Club at its viewing party.
“I think that it’s going to be the Republican’s time to step up, they’re going to have control of both houses,” said Temple University College Republicans Chairperson Stephen Zicker.
