The leaves are changing from green to orange, and the regular coffee in student’s cups are being turned into pumpkin spice lattes. Fall is finally here! Not only is Temple’s campus hype about the new season, but so is Philadelphia. There are countless fall activities for everyone to do just down the street from us.
Starting this weekend, there is an event on Saturday, October 15th, called “Blocktoberfest,” held on South Street. This is a block party that has awesome food trucks come serve food, live entertainment, and overall holds a great crowd of people all with fall fever. The event starts at noon, and will go until 8 PM.
The following weekend, October 21st-22nd, a Harry Potter Festival is being held in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. The small town of Chestnut Hill is being totally transformed into Hogsmeade, and holding all kinds of events pertaining to the best selling series. Some events include a costume parade, a Quidditch tournament, and a Horcrux Hunt. If you love the fall and Harry Potter, you must check out this beloved festival.
Feel like getting out of the city for a day? Then head on out to Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA. Linvilla Orchards is made up of a family market that sells mouth watering pies and baked goods, a pumpkin patch, an apple orchard for apple picking, corn-mazes, and so much more. This place is the perfect place to attend if you are looking for traditional fall activities to do. It is also a great day trip to do with friends.
