The change of seasons has not been kind to the Men’s Soccer Team as they have only won one out of the five games since Summer switched over to Fall. The latest drop came against the University of Central Florida, a few nights after their drop against the University of Southern Florida.
In this game, Temple took an early lead in the first half due to a goal by Belal Mohamed, however the second half turned out to be a different story. Three different players from UCF extended the lead from 1 to 2 to 3 while leaving Temple scoreless throughout the whole half.
This is just a game where the defense seemed to collapse a bit, after allowing nine shots on the goal while the offense only got off two. Goalkeeper Alex Cagle had an impressive game, though, fending off six of the nine shots, but all nine just proved to be too much to deflect.
Temple’s team still has not defeated an opponent within the conference, while the rest of their games come against teams within their conference. There are still positives to be made as Alex Cagle earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference’s Honor Roll again, after a nine save week last week. ‘
Temple still has the ability to do big things, and this is just a little stump in the road after one of their best starts of all time.
