A Temple University security officer was about to start his shift when a hit-and-run vehicle struck his personal car on Friday night around 9 p.m, according to a university spokesman.
The oncoming vehicle struck the officer’s car in the rear and side then continued north on 11th street.
Later that night, the driver of the striking vehicle was stopped and arrested on 11th and Diamond Street, just a few blocks from where the incident occurred.
The officer in the car was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries to his back and neck. He was released later that night. A Temple University spokesperson could not say whether he returned to work.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no charges or arrests have been made.
