It was a big day for the future of Temple Football. Matt Rhule and staff brought in a total 24 recruits spread across eight different states. Those recruits signed their official letter of intent this afternoon, committed to the Cherry & White. Here is a quick look at the players that will be fighting for playing time this coming fall. Rankings are based off rivals.com (all stats are from the players’ senior seasons).
4 Stars:
Karamo Dioubate (DL), 6’4, 270 lbs- Penn Charter native decides to stay in Philadelphia after deciding last minute between South Carolina and Alabama. Dioubate offers size and versatility to the defensive line as he played both tackle and end in high school.
3 Stars:
Keyvone Burton (DB), 5’11, 205 lbs- Virginia native, was one of the athletes to visit Temple University during their matchup with Notre Dame
Amir Tyler (DB), 6’0, 195 lbs- Received offers of the University of Pittsburgh and Syracuse University
Benny Walls (DB), 6’1, 208 lbs- Also split time as a running back at St. Josephs Prep, rushed for 287 yards and 5 TDs.
Anthony Russo (QB), 6’4, 220 lbs: 67% completions, 13 TDs, 2 INT
Isaiah Wright (WR), 6’2, 207 lbs: 618 rushing yards, 697 total yards, 20 total TDs in senior season.
William Kwenkeu (LB), 6’1, 205 lbs: 101 total tackles, three fumble recoveries senior year
Dan Archibong (DL), 6’6, 255 lbs: 49 tackles, eight sacks, 5 total TDs
Matt Hennessy (OL), 6’4, 285 lbs- New Jersey native, had also garnered interest from Duke
Darian Bryant (OT), 6’6, 325 lbs- Philadelphia native that attended Chestnut Hill high school.
