For the first time since 1997, the Temple Owls Men’s Soccer team cracks the NSCAA National Rankings.
The Owls earned the 23rd spot in the latest poll. This is coming off their first five games of the season; none of them in the loss column. The Men’s Soccer team stands at a record of 4-0-1, already having more wins than in their 2014 campaign, ending at a record of 2-14-2. Convincing wins include a 2-0 win over #25 Penn State and another 2-0 win over Yale. They are currently the only team in the American Athletic Conference in the rankings, also the only team from the American earning votes.
The Owls will defend their national ranking for the first time this weekend as they travel for City 6 Soccer competition. They will start with Villanova tomorrow, who Temple last played in 2013 in a 1-0 win, and they will face Penn on Sunday, looking for revenge after last year’s 3-0 loss to the Quakers.
