Temple redeemed themselves with two consecutive corners, which scored the Owls a point after sophomore Jessika Daniels captured the rebound from freshman Kathryn Edgar’s initial shot on goal. 13 minutes into the first half, the match is tied 1-1.

Playing a back and forth game for the next 20 minutes, the Owls manage to keep the ball in their offensive circle. With less than two minutes remaining until halftime, redshirt junior Sarah Keer assists the Owl’s second ball into the goal, scored by Rachael Mueller. The Owls took the halftime lead with a score of 2-1.

With the score at a standstill for the first 25 minutes of second half, the first goal of the half was scored by Emma McLaughlin who dribbled the ball across the goal line for Villanova. Having less than ten minutes of the game remaining the score is tied once again 2-2.

Six minutes later with 3:57 left in the game, McLaughlin scores the Wildcats’ third goal off of a rebound, setting Villanova in the lead 3-2.
