PA Primary: Where to Vote

Pennsylvania (PA) PrimaryPennsylvania joins 4 other states in their primary elections. Among the group is Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland and Rhode Island. All the states’ polls close at 8pm.

The race that the nation’s eyes are on is the Presidential election.

On the democratic side of the race are Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton and Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente. On the Republican side are Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, John Katich and Donald Trump.

While their names are still on the ballot, Bush, Carson and Rubio have all dropped out of the race for the White House.

PA hosts a closed primary meaning voters have to be registered to a political party in order to vote in Pennsylvania’s election. Independents cannot vote in the primary.

Pennsylvania is the largest prize in terms of presidential delegates tonight with 206 delegates up for grabs, 17 are republican delegates leaving 189 as the democratic haul. The other states are as follows:

Connecticut: 55 Democratic, 28 Republican

Delaware: 21 Democratic, 16 Republican

Maryland: 95 Democratic, 38 Republican

Rhode Island: 24 Democratic, 19 Republican

Closer to home, the local races that affect constituents in all our districts are the races for United States Senator, Attorney General, Auditor General and State Treasurer.

On the Democratic ballot for Senator are: Joseph Vodvarka, John Fetterman, Joe Sestak and Katie McGinty. As for the Republicans, sitting Senator Pat Toomey is running for re-election.

As for Attorney General, Democrats John Morganelli, Josh Shapiro, Stephen Zappala Jr. are in the running, their Republican counterparts are Joe Peters and John Rafferty.

Running for Auditor General are Democrat Eugene Depasquale and Republican John Brown.

State Treasurer hopefuls are Democrat Joe Rosella and Republican Otto Voit.
