After a six day visit to the United States, Pope Francis ends his visit flying back to Vatican City, Rome. He was bid farewell by 500 volunteers and benefactors at the hangar of Philadelphia Airport. Vice President Biden came to bid Pope Francis on behalf of the United States government.
“Your care for me and your generous welcome are a sign of your love for Jesus and your faithfulness to him,” said Pope Francis throughout his speech on his welcome to the United States. “So too is your care for the poor, the sick, the homeless and the immigrant, your defense of life at every stage, and your concern for family life.”
He ended his monumental final speech in the United States saying “I will pray for you and your families, and I ask you, please, to pray for me. May God bless you all. God bless America!”
