Finals season is here, and Temple students have a lot to balance as they prepare for the end of the semester.
Throughout finals season, students learn how important and challenging it can be to manage their time. This looks different for every student at Temple, but they all understand the struggle.
Brook Polo, a sophomore Business Administration student, is deciding how to manage her time between the different types of finals she has this year.
“And so there’s a lot of different like papers and projects that I’m having to balance while also studying for tests,” Polo explained.
Exams aren’t the only thing people are getting ready for. For many students, finals prep means more than just studying.
Christian Barnes, a Junior Journalism student, has found that even with knowing about the projects for as long as he had the syllabus, it’s still hard to get them all done on time.
“So yeah, scrambling on one, but the other two projects I’ve known about all year, and now it’s just time to put it on paper,” Barnes describes.
Some students are spending time at the library, while others are balancing work with their finals prep.
“I work literally almost every day this week, and I have to prep for finals, and I’ve got like two exams this week and all these papers due,” Polo emphasized.
The stress of work on top of studying leaves students searching for time to get it all done. Dylan Jean-Lyn, a sophomore majoring in Psychology and Chinese, explained his personal struggles this semester.
“This year I’m taking a lot more major classes, and those are harder than the Gen Ed. So, trying to do that and working in tandem has been like a bit of a struggle, but trying to get through it” said Jean-Lyn.
The owls are ready to fly back home and leave the nest after this final stretch of the Fall semester.
“I mean, I’m looking forward to going home to an extent, you know, as much as anyone can these days,” Polo states her feelings about finishing off the fall semester.
