The Star Complex hosted the 2018 Temple Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Athletes from programs all throughout Temple were honored for the impact they made during their athletic careers. The event recognized alumni from over 40 years to represent the Owls on north broad.
The honorees included:
Roxanne Pierce ( 72-76 ) – Gymnastics
Alex Ovchinnikoff Squeri, Claudia Ovchinnikoff ( 95-98 ) – Lacrosse
Phil Richards ( 58-62 ) Tony Mantella ( 78-81 ) – Wrestling
Henry Burris ( 93-96 ) – Football
Tom Whalen ( 92-96 ) – Baseball
Mary Beth Wilson ( 80-84 ) – Volleyball
Rick Reed ( 75-79 ) Don Casey (73-82 ) – Basketball
Henry Burris is considered one of Temple’s greatest quarterbacks in program history and set 20 records during his collegiate career. He harped on the great memories created at Temple.
“To represent such a big-time university, studying towards the degree that you always loved, and always been seen across the country playing the sport that you love, to me those are the great memories right there,” Burris mentioned.
