On Tuesday, Philadelphia Inquirer’s Marc Narducci reported that Temple is getting close to hiring their next head coach.
Following the impromptu departure of Manny Diaz just weeks after being hired, Temple has reportedly narrowed their list of head coaching candidates to a select group. Diaz was originally set to replace Geoff Collins who left Temple after being hired by Georgia Tech, but following Mark Richt’s retirement, was hired to be the head coach of the University of Miami (FL).
While there still are many unknown candidates vying for the job, a few have begun to leak.
The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman recently reported that the Owls have interviewed Wisconsin offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph for the position.

The report states that Rudolph was “impressive” during his interview. Rudolph, a former offensive lineman for the Badgers, was the offensive coordinator at Pittsburgh prior to moving to back to his alma mater.
Adam Rittenhouse of ESPN replied to Feldman’s tweet stating that both Northern Illinois coach Rod Carey and Eastern Michigan coach Chris Creighton also received interviews.
Excellent recruiter with ties to the state. #NIU coach Rod Carey and #EasternMichigan coach Chris Creighton also involved here. https://t.co/qYsYrwKUGm

According to Narducci, Temple could make their decision by as soon as this weekend.
