Earlier this month, Temple Police Inspector, Jeffrey Chapman, earned his master’s degree from the school of Sports, Tourism and Hospitality Management.
Chapman has been on the Temple Police Force since 1986, and in 2009 he began to use his job to help him get a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Upon finishing his degree in 2014, his wife advised him to take the next step and work towards his master’s degree.
He enrolled in the master’s program through STHM and took his courses while also working full time for the Temple Police.
Chapman also had to make sure he could spend time with his wife and twin sons, who had just started pre-k when he began courses.
Chapman says that in his thirty plus years at Temple, he has made great relationships with people who would give him the support system he needed to finish strong.
When reflecting on the support he was shown, Chapman says, “The support was there in every aspect, and it made it all worth it”.
