Temple Volleyball earned its 4th straight victory Friday at Tulsa while also notching their 5th sweep of the season.
The Owls would have an effectively productive day as they wouldn’t hit below .270 in all three of their sets, and would only manage to commit 10 errors.
Set one was dominated by Temple as they managed to keep the lead throughout the whole set. The Owls won the set based off of a service error committed by Tulsa at the end of the set.
In the 2nd set, Tulsa set the tone, taking an early four point lead. After that the Owls filled the rest of the set with a series of runs including a 9-4 run toward the end of the set that put the Owls ahead 23-18. Temple eventually took the set 25-21 due to two kills from Irem Asci.
On the ropes in the third set, Tulsa jumped to another early lead, but the Temple Owls were victorious again as they would erase the early three point lead, and eventually take the set 25-22. It was a back and forth final set as the set would oversee 5 ties, and a pair of lead changes before the Owls would defeat the Hurricane.
The Owls saw a solid contribution from a plethora of players including the team’s leading scorer Junior Irem Asci who led the way with 14 kills, Senior Tyler Davis who notched 10 kills, Mia Heirakuji who contributed 18 digs, and Junior Kyra Coundourides who racked up 35 assist.
Friday’s win marks the 4th conference win of the season for the Owls and puts them at 11-4 overall for the season.
The Owls will end their 4 game road trip Sunday at SMU at 1:00 against the Mustangs.
