Temple Women’s Lacrosse Team opened Big East Conference play this past weekend with a loss to #2 ranked Florida. Only falling to the Gators by one point, the team wasn’t discouraged by the loss and has a positive outlook on the rest of the season.
Head Coach Bonnie Rosen says with minor adjustments, she feels the team can beat anyone.
“We know that if we just kind of do the little things and prepare well and just put that game on the field we have the chance to beat anyone in the country.”
The Lady Owls currently hold an 8-3 record, which is identical to their record at this point last year. However, Coach Rosen feels this team is a lot better than the team last year.
Senior Rachel Schwabb currently leads the team in points with 21 goals and 13 assists, but Schwabb believes the team’s success is attributed to the entire teams ability to score.
“Just as a whole attack, we’ve opened things up for a bunch of different people, and I’ve been lucky to be on the receiving end of a few more goals.”
Eight players have already reached double digits in scoring for the season, which is two players more than last season overall.
The Owls are scheduled to continue Big East play against Vanderbelt this Saturday at Geasey Field.
