Operations Manager Sax Dma explains the concept: “If you live in the suburbs or in the country, you can go to the pumpkin patch, but what we did is we brought the pumpkin patch to the city. It’s really optimal to have this like right down the street for most people, within 30 minutes of their commute. It just makes sense.”
The real smash hit of the patch is the pumpkin smashing zone! Guests of all ages line up to take their swing, and a young participant named Ben Freeze joined in, showing everyone that even the tiniest swing can bring the biggest smiles.
When it came to his pumpkin-smashing technique, Ben had a strategy all his own: “I just like to act like Wreck-It Ralph!”
After each triumphant swing, the joy is simple, but priceless. When asked how it felt to smash that pumpkin, Ben’s answer was an enthusiastic: “Great!”
It’s not just the little ones having fun. Temple University students like Carol Delbridge say it’s the perfect fall reset.
“I go to Temple University, and it’s Fall Wellness Day today, and this was a really good use of it,” Carol said. “It’s right in the city, so I don’t have to go too far at all, and it’s been an amazing time so far.”
