Winter 2013 was the coldest Philadelphia had seen in over two decades. Temple Update carried out live coverage of the brutal harsh climates that hit the Philadelphia region.
Although five sports were cut from the schools athletic programs, men’s crew and women’s rowing were saved after the city of Philadelphia collaborated with the H.F. Lenfest Foundation to award the university a five million dollar donation. The donation was used to restore the East Park Canoe House on Kelly Drive.
