This past Saturday, SMC students packed the TV2 studio to listen in on a professional panel that included some successful Temple Alumni.
Students who attended this event will be able to attend next March’s first ever Media Career Job Fair, to be held in Mitten Hall.
“The faculty here is so superb and connected to the industry,” says KYW Newsradio director of programming and Temple Alum, Steve Butler. “That while you’re here, make sure you impress them because often other professionals in the business will call them up and say, ‘hey who are some of the better students you have right now,’ were looking for somebody for an entry level position in our station.”
There are other events that will provide tickets to the Job Fair. On November 3rd, there will be the Sports Journalism Summit, on November 10th, Dean David Boardman and ESPN’s Rob King will host a Q&A, and in January, students can look forward to a professional resume review.
SMC faculty members are hoping for high numbers of attendance for the upcoming professional events. Remember, only students who attend these events will be able to go to the Media Career Job Fair in March 2015.
