The excitement increases as we wait for the arrival of Pope Francis next weekend. Excitement is not the only word to describe Philadelphia’s major upcoming event, but also hectic due to road closures. Getting around the city next weekend will be extremely difficult for many vehicles. Major highways like I-76, I-676, and I-95 exits leading to Broad Street will be closed along with the Ben Franklin Bridge. Though, the Ben Franklin Bridge will be open for pedestrian crossings.
On the bright side, it was announced on Monday that Mark Walhberg will host the Festival of Families next weekend. Special guest performances will include Aretha Franklin, The Fray, Marie Miller, Jim Gaffigan, Jackie Evancho, Sister Sledge, Andrea Bocelli, Juanes, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and Matt Maher along the Ben Franklin Parkway.
