The Temple University Career Week hosted many events aimed to help students succeed post-
graduation. The “Just in Time” Career Fair was the final event of Career Week, which ran from March 19th to the 26th.
Open to all students and all majors, the event was located on
the second floor of the Howard Gittis Student Activities Center from 11 AM to 2 PM.
Shannon Conklin, the Interim Director of the Career Center, said the main goal was
connecting students with many employers from a variety of industries. This allows students
to understand the diverse opportunities available to them regarding full-time jobs to summer
internships.
The “Just in Time” career fair featured over 70 employers, from a variety of fields ranging from
governmental jobs like the Philadelphia Police Department, to non-profits like the Peace Corps
and Teach for America.
Other organizations, like Saxby’s, SodaStream, and the United States Army were also present at
the event.
Over 100 students attended the event seeking summer internships and other
job opportunities. By using Temple’s new recruitment and career management platform,
“Handshake”, students can connect with employers and keep up to date with
important events.
Handshake was initiated by Temple University last year in order to make job searching and
professional development easier for students, alumni, and employers.
Even though Career Week is over, you can check the Career Center website for future events for
your career needs.
