An additional 234 cases of coronavirus have been reported over the weekend in Philadelphia. Today’s numbers represent the total over three days, new cases were last announced Friday, July 10th. The total number of cases is now 27,575. Two fatalities bring the death toll to 1,631. Of that number, 835 (51%) were long-term care facility residents.
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health reports progress in controlling the virus in congregate settings, such as prisons and nursing homes.
Increased tonnage and severe weather delayed trash and recycling collections by one day this week through Saturday July 18. With people staying home, trash that is normally produced at businesses is accumulating at residential properties.
Those who suspect that they have the virus, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive are advised to refer to this map to various testing sites throughout the city.
