COVID-19: An Afternoon in New York

Both cars and bikes filled the streets of Pelham, New York Saturday afternoon as the temperature rose above 60 degrees. Temple Update’s Nicolle Majette went to visit family in Mount Vernon, while maintaining a distance of six feet. It almost looks like an average day, except everyone is wearing a mask.

Last week, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order requiring all people in New York to wear face coverings in public.

Many businesses have closed their doors, however essential businesses such as liquor stores are still allowing customers to enter, as long as they follow the rules.

At a Walgreens in the Bronx, customers have to wait in line outside to enter the store as only 15 people can shop at a time. While New York City looks a lot quieter than usual, it’s measures like this that will help flatten the curve.
