Will Cummings has played a huge part in Temple’s seven game winning streak before their loss to SMU tonight. The Owls lost all three games when Cummings was injured. Last season the Owls won only nine games and had their first twenty loss season in the program’s history.
On Monday, Cummings was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, and he is a top candidate for AAC Player of the year. Will has not just been the captain of the basketball team this year, he has been the team’s MVP. This season, he is averaging 13.7 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, and he is Temple’s leading scorer.
Rocco Disangro sat down with Will on Monday to discuss his senior year and some of his favorite moments in his four years at Temple. They also talked about his off-season, which was different from years in the past.
Cummings was invited to work out with Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers at Paul’s Elite Guard Camp. This camp is invite only and 15 of the top college point guards in the country are selected.
The Owls have four games remaining on the season as they take on Tulsa, Houston , ECU and UCONN, and then all eyes are on the conference tournament in Connecticut where Temple will be looking to win it all to get an automatic bid in the “big dance”.
