The Temple 2024 Global Engagement Week, hosted by International Student Affairs, kicked off on Monday. This will start numerous events providing opportunities for international and non-international students throughout Temple University.
Global Engagement Week wants students to experience different cultures in the Temple community. Many students have already indulged in the festivities this week. Director of International Student Affairs, Leah Hetzell said, “We support our over 2000 international students at Temple University they’re from over 120 different countries, and so through this week, we really give them a chance to come together and celebrate our community.” Director of International Student Affairs
Global engagement stands out to be one of the most inclusive events that Temple University has ever hosted.
The Japanese coffee hour was a popular part of global engagement. It introduced a multitude of Japanese items, from food to flowers, and even the music echoed sentiments for Japan. International student and event volunteer Moulishka Sawant shared her thoughts: “Coffee hour is an amazing place because here is where you get to learn about the culture, the diversity, the food, the people, the tradition.”
The wellness recharge offered students a relaxing session of yoga followed by a sound bath to harmonize their mind, body, and spirit.
There was also a study abroad event, which allowed students to socialize with recruiters and faculty for opportunities to launch student travels around the world.
Global Engagement Week offered activities for everyone. The appreciation and energy were felt during each event by all attendees.
