Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, fans will not be allowed to attend Temple’s football games at Lincoln Financial Field until further notice. In order to help give a home-field atmosphere for both the players and fans, Temple has announced it will be launching a new program called “Hoot From Home.”
This is a unique second-screen virtual experience that will allow fans to get the game day experience from their own homes. The program will air on the Temple Athletics Youtube channel and will complement the televised broadcast of the team’s home opener on Saturday, October 17th.
Temple’s Senior Associate Athletics Director of External Operations Scott Walcoff is confident in program’s success:7
“Our hope is that they will feel as though they are enjoying a number of our pre-game activities, in-game video board features and on-field promotions they normally would while cheering on the Owls in person at Lincoln Financial Field.”
“Hoot From Home” is scheduled to begin one hour prior to kickoff and will conclude at the end of the game, this will be done for all Temple Football home games. The pre-game show will include performances from the Temple marching band, analysis of the upcoming game. The broadcast during the game will feature play-by-play announcer Harry Donahue and Paul Palmer. Fans will also be encouraged to post pictures/videos of themselves during the game.
Though the Pandemic has forced fans to stay home, Temple has given fans an opportunity to remain apart of the live game day action.
