Even with classes back in person and students back on campus, there’s a new construction project here at Temple University, this time it’s on Liacouras Walk.
A junior here at Temple, Jaymi Lazowick, says, “During classes I can hear all the construction and all of the loud banging, it’s a lot of noise but as long as it looks pretty in the end, I’m excited to see what it’s going to look like.”
Once the construction on Liacouras Walk is finished, it’s going to have a whole new look. Some of the new construction by Ritter hall will consist of an entirely new water fountain, a wide seating area with umbrellas, more trees, and an area for more grass.
The construction site is right next to Ritter Hall and Ritter Annex and will continue to go on for the rest of the semester.
But this construction is not only affecting students & staff trying to get into Ritter, a campus favorite that has been unable to open, the Bagel Hut.
A spokesperson for Bagel Hut says they are opening for business before the construction is done, and are excited to be back. To celebrate their re-opening, they are giving out free coffees to all Temple students and staff.
*UPDATE: The Bagel Hut is officially back in business now!
