As spring peeks around the corner, the City of Brotherly Love gears up for its annual Love Run Half Marathon & 5k this Sunday at 7:30am.
The course begins and ends at Art Museum at Eakins Oval; for those not ready for 13.5 miles, a 5k run is also offered called the #Allcity5k.
The half marathon course weaves through downtown Philadelphia so runners can experience the sights and sounds of the city rather than push through the hills of Fairmount Park where races are usually held.
This Sunday marks the 5th year of the Love Run Half Marathon, which includes over 10,0000 runners both local and from out of town who want the experience of a race voted ‘Best Half Marathon,’ ‘Best Swag,’ and ‘Best Race Shirt’ in Philadelphia.
Although the race is expected to end by 10 AM, a Finish Line Festival will be held until noon, where participants and onlookers can enjoy Philadelphia classics like soft pretzels and cheesesteaks, and celebrate the winners of the Love Run Half Marathon & 5k.
