Temple Men’s Cross Country faced a great day in Greenville N.C., finishing fourth in the American Athletic Conference Championship – the highest ever for Temple.
Led by Matt Kacyon, who finished 8th with a personal best time of 24:07.56, and Alex Izewski, who finished in 12th place with a personal best time of 24:17.79 the Owls made a name for themselves.
Junior Stephan Listabarth finished in 20th place with a personal best of 24:43.67. Senior Will Maltin finished in the top 30, placing 27th with a personal best of 24:56.35, and freshman Johnathan Condly also posted a personal best time of 25:39.18.
Coach Snyder felt extreme pride for his boys, saying, “This was our highest-ever finish at a conference championship, and having two guys get all-conference is also a first. He also commented saying the Owls are “in a great spot heading into regionals. I’m just incredibly proud of the way all these guys competed today.”
Tulsa won the title, while UConn took second. The Owls will now prepare for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, Nov 13, at Princeton. Here are the results from today’s meet.
